Friday Pre-Conference Workshops

Two workshops will be run as daytime activities on Friday the 13th. A $20 GP workshop with CPD/QI (pending) credits will be available, as well as a free workshop for general attendees.

GP Workshop – Primary Care and the Planet

This workshop is for general practitioners and practice staff. QI/CPD points available.

General Practitioners are faced with the health impacts of climate change on a daily basis, however also have unique opportunities to positively influence individuals and communities to tackle this issue. This workshop will explore the common health implications of a changing climate and discuss the role of GPs in prevention, management and health advocacy. We will also explore healthcare sustainability and practical ways to help your practice support the health of the planet.

General Workshop – Being an Effective Change-maker for a Healthy Climate

This free workshop is open to all health professionals and students – all welcome!

Have you ever wondered how to create the societal change necessary to tackle climate change? Just as being a good doctor requires training, being an effective change-maker is something that can be learnt and passed on. This day of workshops will equip you with practical skills in advocacy and campaigning that you can use in whatever arena you’re working in.
