Anaesthetist and National Deputy Chair, DEA |
Eugenie Kayak is a Melbourne based anaesthetist and presently the National Deputy Chair of DEA. From 2009 to 2015 she was the Victorian Chairperson of DEA, and in this capacity helped lead DEA’s legal challenge opposing the approval of a new coal fired power plant in Morwell (HRL) due to local and global health concerns.
Eugenie sits on the Victorian State Government Climate Change Advisory Panel and is involved in many of DEA’s activities at both national and state levels, particularly in relation to climate change, coal, air pollution and the environmental impacts of our healthcare practices.
Eugenie joined DEA originally to work towards improving our health sector’s environmental footprint and is presently part of teams finalising DEA’s Health Sector Sustainability documents and ANZCA’s Statement on Environmental Sustainability.
