Nick Towle is a Tasmanian medical graduate. He began his medical journey working as a career medical officer in emergency medicine for a decade before transitioning to medical education and public health advocacy. He is currently a senior lecturer with the Rural Clinical School (Burnie, Tasmania) teaching 4th and final year medical students in acute care and global health perspectives. Education for sustainability is also a major passion, which includes teaching into a number of interdisciplinary sustainability units at the University of Tasmania and teaching permaculture design in community settings. He has contributed to a range of climate and health advocacy initiatives for over a decade, ranging from a formal advisory role to the Tasmanian state government, through to community based advocacy and activism. A simple philosophy he brings to much of his work is ‘What you say matters. What you do, matters most.’
