iDEA18 Secretary | Medical Student, The University of Wollongong
Henness is a second-year medical student at the University of Wollongong. He is a passionate advocate for environmental sustainability and climate health. Locally, he has contributed to his university’s environmental management in reducing carbon emission, energy consumption, waste management and more as the Postgraduate Student Representative to the Vice Chancellor’s Environmental Advisory Committee since March 2017.
Nationally, he was a policy author of the Climate Health & Change Policy at the Australian Medical Students’ Council (AMSA) and an avid volunteer for AMSA’s environmental arm, Code Green Australia. He also completed training with the Climate and Health Alliance (CAHA) about the Framework on National Strategy for Climate, Health and Wellbeing, 2017.
In 2018, he is the International Students Office at NSW Medical Students’ Council (NSWMSC).
